Dunstable Gators were founded
in 1997 and are affiliated to GBH Inline. Although a relatively inexperienced
club, Gators have already made their mark on Southern and GBHI UK
Skater Hockey Leagues. Membership is open to all irrespective of political
belief, religion, nationality, sex, colour or race. For more information
on joining Dunstable Gators, come along to one of our training sessions, or contact one of the committee members listed on the contacts page.
Skater Hockey is a fast action, physical sport
with similarities to ice hockey, but played on in-line roller skates.
It is a minimal contact sport and therefore requires protective equipment
to minimise potential injury. It is played by boys, girls, men and
women of all ages.
There are currently four age groups at Dunstable
Gators and we have teams registered in the following: - U12, U14,
U16, U18, and seniors. The ages are based on the player’s age at
the end of the calendar year on December 31st.
Gators train twice a week on Saturdays, at Dunstable Leisure Centre, times as follows:
Beginners/U12 2.00 – 3.00 pm; U14/U16 3.00 –
4.30pm U18/Seniors 4.30-6.00pm and Mondays at Houghton Regis Leisure Centre all ages 7.00
– 9.00 pm (league and invited players only). For new
players the first 4 training sessions are absolutely FREE! After your 4 free sessions, you will move onto a Direct Debit payment structure. Please ask for details after your 4 free sessions.
Dunstable Gators have an annual membership
fee of £20.00 for full family membership. GBHI Southern is responsible for administering the sport at local
level and is affiliated to GBHI UK, who are the sports governing body,
at national and international level.
